Why Konata?
I've been trying to make this darn cheer dress since high school, no lie, so I thought it was high time I FINALLY got around to it. I was especially inspired after seeing the wrong side of this purple mysique fabric. It is just SUCH a pretty lilac purple that I knew I would have to use it for a Lucky Star cheer dress, and the rest is history!
I had accumulated so many wigs for Lucky Star characters already, and then I even got the opportunity to do a sponsorship with Purple Plum, so I ended up also doing Kagami and Tsukasa. Thus far, I think Kagami is actually been my favorite to do! That actually really surprised me.

About This Costume
The dress is all made of spandex- the purple is mystique fabric, but using the backside. The white parts are Yaya Han's matte spandex, and the green stripe was done in stretch sequin trim from Joann. The star was done in glitter craft vinyl, and the white stripe on the straps with white bias tape!
Socks are from We Love Colors- I doubled them up for more opacity! The shoes are from Payless, and got the perfect gold pom poms from Walmart. I tied elastic to the dowels in the middle of them so I could wear them on my wrists when I was walking around but needed to use my hands. Nifty!

Why Konata?
So Haruhi was one of my first cosplays I ever did, and Konata actually cosplays Haruhi in the show Lucky Star. In fact, it's her job! She works at a cosplay cafe! So why not cosplay a cosplayer? It only makes sense. Especially when all you have to do is buy the wig!

About This Costume
Well, not much to say really other than all I had to do was style the wig! The outfit was bought all the way back in 2008, so I can't believe it's over a decade old and I STILL HAVE IT. That's wild to me, hahaha. And all that time and I still haven't done a photoshoot officially with Konata as Haruhi? What blasphemy is this? Don't worry, I'll try and fix that ASAP for ya!
