Why Misty?
Growing up with Pokemon, you can't help but adore the original trainer trio of Ash, Brock, and Misty! So naturally, I thought cosplaying Misty would be plenty of fun for the nostalgic factor, but also because it's such a simple and comfortable cosplay- perfect for summer or Sunday cosplays when I don't want too many layers or exhausting costumes to wear!
Although she's quite simple, I've been working on her on and off for several years, just do to me always having other projects going on that take priority. And I'm too lazy to make the suspenders, but too picky to just buy some, hahaha. So 2019 is the year it finally happens! ;P

About This Costume
Misty is a simple costume, some of which is just found items, like the shorts and shoes. Didn't bother to get high top sneakers, since I already have SO many shoes as it is! The shorts were originally from Amazon, I believe, and the crop top I made using some yellow knit I had stashed since 2014 to make my yellow sundress for Ranka. Likewise, the Togepi was purchased from a convention! The scale and size of it is just perfect.
I styled the wig using an Arda Jareth in pumpkin orange. I pulled some hair into a ponytail on the side and started trimming away! I also trimmed the length at the back of the neck, and used the scraps to help fill in the ponytail. I also took out some wefting at the back to sew into the sides so that you can't see through the wig where I pulled it into a ponytail.
