Why Panty?

Okay, first off, that question sounds funny in any other context. Secondly, Panty and Stocking is the anime that is SO ridiculous you can't help but love it, and if you haven't seen it, I can only describe it as a mix of South Park, Danny Phantom, Powerpuff Girls, and just overall a really big roast on American cartoons and culture.

So anyways, I love pretty much any of the four main girls in PSG, and I can't remember why I decided to do Panty other than she was probably the easiest to get parts for at the time. Still, I absolutely love her character, and it's really fun getting to play something SO out of my norm, haha. She and I are about as polar opposite as you can get! It's always fun to be someone different for a day!

About This Costume

Pretty much everything on this costume was store bought, with the exception of the necklace and matching bracelet. I don't recall where I got any of the items- all online from ebay and Amazon, most likely! Even though this costume and its parts are quite old (2011), I rewore it in 2018 at ColossalCon, and all of the pieces, even the wig, have held up beautifully! Makes me wish I had more opportunities to wear it, because it's a cute look, really.

Red Dress V1
Why Panty?

This was a very simple to assemble outfit since it was mostly all found item! I didn't know much about sewing at the time so it was nice to be able to just search online and assemble a cosplay from various parts and accessories. I actually loved this look on me a lot more than I thought I would, so I would love to revisit it some day and make my dress this time around!

About This Costume

Not much to say here- almost everything was bought, with slight alterations made to each! The dress was bought from Kohl's, the bracelets and earrings bought from Plato's closet and painted with nail polish. Can't even recall where the necklace and shoes were from. All in all, a really simply, easy starter cosplay, and super comfy too!

Bunny Suit V1
Why Panty?

Can't go wrong with a classic bunny suit! Unless you are of course making it yourself, but severely underprepared for the task, haha. I plan to remake this costume in the near future, now that I actually have the skill sets to do this costume properly. However, for the brief few hours that it was worn on the con floor, I enjoyed my time wearing it!

About This Costume

Ahaha, soooooo this hot mess of a costume was a very short-lived cosplay. Wore it to one con, and not even fully complete, really, at that. It was way above my skill level at the time to make such a fitted, structured garment as I was still brand new to sewing. It ended up falling apart at the seams by the end of the con. So in other words, I need to redo this cosplay, and do it some real justice!

Yoko Crossover
Why Panty?

Done as sort of a joke cosplay, I did a "Panty as Yoko" crossover using the pieces from my Yoko Littner costume. Both were Gainax characters, and I had seen a few fan art crossovers involving the two series' characters, so thought it would be fun to do a crossover cosplay! Not particularly deeper than that.

A similar mashup I did was Stocking as MeMeMe, since the music video's idol character was inspired by Stocking's design, and again, have creator crossovers.

About This Costume

Not anything new to report on this cosplay that isn't already covered on Yoko's page! So head over there for more details on the construction of this costume. Though it is now retired, this was one of my most beloved and probably most frequently worn cosplays! It was also one of the first that I made entirely on my own. Minus the stockings, those were bought haha.

Anyways, I do hope to remake my Yoko cosplay one day, hopefully it will stand the test of time as this first version once did. I do miss cosplaying her!
