Hello, and welcome to my past events page, where I keep a record of various convention and nerdy/art-themed events that I have attended, worked, tabled at, guested at, or otherwise been to in some capacity. I mostly mafe this page for my own sake, since I've been to so many events of the years that I've lost count now!
This page is still very much under construction, so please bear with me as tinker with the page design, and while I review over a decade of records and past photos to try and retrace my cosplay and events histories. 2024 Summary:
(Last Updated Feb 19, 2024) Well, the year is just getting started, but I've already attended several pop-up events! I also have many cons planned for the year, mostly focused in Arizona. But I am excited to also be attending some cons out of state, some of which will be for my first time ever, such as SakuraCon! I'm hoping to seriously get back into cosplay, especially competitive cosplay, this year. I also want to challenge myself to learn new skills, such as armor and wig styling. 2015 Summary:
In a very exciting turn of events, I spent most of 2015 in Anaheim, as I had been accepted into the Disney College Program as a stores hostess! This was the furthest I'd ever been from home, and was totally new territory for me. I am so glad I took the plunge, and met many amazing folks on the west coast that I am still friends with to this day! Naturally I got to try a lot of new conventions. I also tried out some new things in cosplay, such as making my first two ballgowns, although I didn't debut Aurora until 2016. I also experienced many contest losses, which was unlucky for me, but I was determined to get recognition for my Belle costume because it is still one of my cleanest pieces I've made. Well, craftsmanship wise. Nowadays, it has sustained a few stains on the skirt hem, and a lot of the glitter has fallen off, but I sure got a lot of wears out of that cosplay!

2014 Summary:
This year was definitely among my most active. I don't know how I did it because I was also completing my senior collection for my Apparel Design degree in which I had to create 6 unique looks! Although I did not get to create many new competition worthy cosplays this year, I was able to create one of my most lofty and difficult costumes to date, which was Anna. It used several spools of thread, required me to buy an embroidery machine, and to learn to digitize my own embroidery designs, and used lots of unique fabrics such as satin, velveteen, wool blend, fleece, taffeta, and more. This was also my biggest contest ever, including judges such as Ashley Eckstein, Yaya Han, and more! To compensate for how much time and money I spent on Anna, I ended up attending most of the rest of the year's cons for only a single day.

2013 Summary:
I accomplished my first "official cosplayer" status this year by working for Funimation on two occasions. I got to attend the North American debut of Michiko to Hatchin, and was at the debut of the first few episodes with a Hatchin cosplayer (whose name has escaped me), as well as some of the leading voice actors, such as Monica Rial who dubbed for Michiko. I also got to assist the Funimation booth once again at Anime Central, and cosplayed from one of their titles, Rosario + Vampire, as Kurumu and then Mizore. I also won my first "big" convention award with my Sheryl Nome cowgirl cosplay. I then later placed in Best Masters for the first time with my Space Faerie cosplay. This year was a great one for the growth of my skills and abilities.

2012 Summary:
I'd say that 2012 was my biggest year of learning, growth, and coming into my own identity as a cosplayer. I made several new cosplays, started competing more seriously, made it all the way into masters category from novice level in just one year! Albeit, somewhat by accident, since I was misplaced into masters at MatsuriCon. However, I was apparently able to hold my own even at my skill level back then. So after that, I competed from masters/advanced categories from then on!

2011 Summary:
This was the first year that I really started truly making my cosplays from scratch, without existing patterns, garments, or guides. Yoko Littner was the first ever cosplay that I made entirely from scratch, and she snagged me a few awards early on! Mizore Shirayuki was another cosplay that I made from scratch. On both cosplays I later ended up remaking several or all of their parts.

2007-2010 Summary:
These were my earliest years in cosplay, some of which were back before I knew anything about sewing! I attempted to make some cosplays on my own such as Hatsune Miku, Sasuke Uchiha (Shippuden), Temari, and others. But only a few came to fruition, such as Anya Alstreim, which was later debuted in 2011. I was able to debut Haku Yowane though, where I entered my first ever cosplay contest. My costume was just modified from mostly bought garments, and my sewing skills were highly beginner. So naturally, I did not win a craftsmanship award, and yet I was so inspired by the contest winners there that I KNEW that was what I wanted to do, and so began my journey as a cosplay crafter and craftsmanship contestant!
